Are you currently unemployed and need help to get back into work?

Whether you are long-term unemployed, have a health condition or have recently come out of work, there is a lot of wraparound support to get you back on the right pathway to re-training, upskilling yourself or getting a job. Here’s a guide to the help available in Bolton.

 

WorkWell 

WorkWell Bolton supports Bolton residents who are both in work and struggling with a health condition or recently out of work and need some health, skills or employment support to get back on track.

Benefits of WorkWell in Bolton

  • Personalised support from a Work and Health Coach to help you overcome health and social barriers to employment.
  • A voluntary service with access to MSK (Musculoskeletal), mental health, employment advice and other services to help remove any barriers to employment.

Contact them if you are:

  • In work and struggling with low mood, feeling anxious, stressed out, or just fed up more than usual, or have an MSK (Musculoskeletal condition).
  • Recently unemployed (within the last 12 months prior to referral) where poor health significantly contributed to your unemployment.
  • An individual with neurodiversity-related issues, who is unemployed or is employed or self-employed but at risk of unemployment.

Employment Hub (formerly The Workshop), Bolton Council 

Bolton Council's Employment Hub provides free support to help local residents find sustainable, long-term employment. They also offer help and support with skills, qualifications, and work experience. They are a highly motivated team who will work hard to help you achieve your goals. If you are a young person, unemployed or need to update your skills to find work, they would love to hear from you and support you on your skills and work journey.

Restart

What can the Restart scheme do for me?

If you are currently unemployed, you will work with a dedicated member of their team to get you ready and into work within 12 months. They will give you support to access local job opportunities, training and wider support to help you with money advice, training and any other barriers you have to finding employment.

They can help you with:

  • Job searching and applications
  • CV building
  • Training courses
  • Gaining qualifications
  • Interview skills and techniques

Best Choices, Bolton Council 

Best Choices provides mental health and learning disability services for people who are over the age of 16 and live in Bolton. They provide services to support people with mental health and learning needs.

  • Promoting well-being, self-esteem, confidence, choice and independence

Staff at the Bolton at Home Employment and Enterprise Team offer a range of services to help you gain the skills, confidence and motivation to get back into work.

Employment support at UCAN centres

Bolton at Home offer support with application forms, online job searching, CVs, IT training, one-to-one guidance and debt and money advice to Bolton at Home residents.
